Our History
Over 35 years ago, I took the H & R Block Income Tax Course, which I aced and was subsequently offered a position. After six years with the company, I decided to venture out on my own, starting Ray Therrien's Income Tax Service. For over 8 years, I would drive to client's homes with my laptop and personal printer. I had clients in RI as far south as Westerly, as well as some in nearby Massachusetts. As the business grew, I purchased my home and established an office in my basement. After 9 years of having my clients visit my home to prepare their taxes, I was able to open my office at 876 Central Avenue in Pawtucket, RI. After 10 years on Central Ave, I was advised that the building was to be sold. On June 1st, 2022 I opened Ray Therrien's Income Tax Service at new location:
591 Beverage Hill Ave, Pawtucket, RI.
In 2020, after 26 years on my own, my grandson, Austin, joined the team. A year later his fiancée, Sade, joined us. As I enter my 29th year we have a team of 3 preparers, while my wife Joyce handles our scheduling.
My personal accomplishments are: Bachelors Degree from Bryant College, Associate Degree in Finance and Investments from Johnson & Wales University, and a Certificate Program for Certified Financial Planner from Bryant University. I am also a participant in the Annual Filing Season Program.
